I must offer you my sincerest apologies! When the snow came in January and February and we missed many school days, I also missed updating this blog. Once I got out of my routine, I neglected to update this site in March and April as well. I am very sorry if you've been checking for updates and seeing no new posts. Rather than try to go back in time to tell you what we've been studying, I will just begin with May. Again, I apologize for the lack of communication.
Over the past several months, I have been working with a reading group in Mrs. White's class. We have focused on writing about our reading and making inferences Finding support in the text for the inferences has also been a goal. This week, students enjoyed working with words by unscrambling letters and reading clues to solve verbal riddles and puzzles.
During math, I have worked with a small group to extend addition and subtraction with and without regrouping. The students mastered the grade level skill quickly, so we extended their practice into hundreds and even thousands. They were very successful!
