I must offer you my sincerest apologies! When the snow came in January and February and we missed many school days, I also missed updating this blog. Once I got out of my routine, I neglected to update this site in March and April as well. I am very sorry if you've been checking for updates and seeing no new posts. Rather than try to go back in time to tell you what we've been studying, I will just begin with May. Again, I apologize for the lack of communication.
Recently, first graders have been working on various types of analogies. We have practice many examples together to help students develop the type of thinking required to solve analogies. Students have also worked independently to solve analogies.
We've also been communicating with our pen pal friends at Kersey Creek Elementary School. In doing so, we've been working on correct friendly letter format in addition to writing clearly for communication. This week, students began learning how to correctly address and envelope.
