Again this year, I will be collaborating with Mrs. S. White to provide differentiated instruction during Language Arts and Math. I will work in her classroom twice a week for each subject. Third graders are occasionally also taken to the resource room to work on additional projects as needed. Already this year, the entire class has participated in a brief lesson to help them extend and enrich the vocabulary they use to describe characters from their reading. As we read Julius, Baby of the World by Kevin Henkes we made a chart of sophisticated and advanced words that could be used in place of more basic words. During math, students have been reviewing and practicing four ways to write a number (standard, word, picture, and expanded).
